Dear Friends,
Friday May 1st would have been our 4th and final Authors' Tea of the year for the Global Village Project. As you may know I have been using Singing to teach English at GVP since its inception in 2009. Our students come from Afghanistan, Burma, Congo, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Chad, Iraq, Nepal, Somalia, Syria, Central African Republic...
Now all our teaching has gone online, and I'm singing with my students via Zoom. It's certainly not like being in the room together and hearing their fabulous voices, but it's a blessing to continue to be together, even if it's just on screen.
But we can't let the day go by without celebrating our students and their determination to continue learning! We invite you to join us as we share what GVP teachers and students have been up to over the past few weeks and months.
We will hear student perspectives, relive GVP Chorus performances, and celebrate student voices. Dr. Cassie Leymarie will be real-time answering your questions. And I will be leading a couple songs to start and end the afternoon!
