Join Elise & special guest Becky Reardon to sing on the 26,000 acre barrier island of Ossabaw, a State Heritage Preserve off the coast of Savannah, Georgia. We will have ample time to listen, explore, and learn about the island’s varied ecosystems - Spanish moss adorning live oaks; rookeries with herons, egrets, and roseate spoonbills; brief glimpses of alligators, deer, and wild pigs; and the 700 year old mother tree... as well as the island's human history - migratory North American tribes who lived here 5000 years ago, plantation owners and enslaved people, and the woman who is responsible for Ossabaw becoming Georgia’s first Nature Preserve.
The retreat is an opportunity for individuals to learn more about their own voice, to build community through group singing, and to celebrate the natural environment with deep listening, resonant voices, and our individual and communal creativity.
Registration price includes accommodations, boat transportation to and from the island, locally sourced organic meals by Chef Lesley, a natural and cultural history tour with our on-island host Ben, morning qigong, an evening fire circle sing, and singing workshops with Elise & Becky in various locations on the island.
Participants limited to 13 ~ Registration closes Sept. 30!

“Want to hear three totally unique yet complementary out-of-the-mainstream voices? Both in poetry and musicianship, Terry, Becky and Elise defy typical music categories while clearly drawing on folk, rock, jazz and non-western cultural rhythms and melodies. Their trio magically combines the surprising individual sensibility of each of these women who have fearlessly pursued an artist’s drive for self=expression. Want to resonate with notions of responsible connection to other people, nature, and the challenging world around us? Sing along with the deep and delightful songs these women share so soulfully.”
~ Donna Calame, Sunday Concert Series, San Francisco CA

All Singing: The Elise Witt Songbook
58 original songs arranged for solo and community singing
“Elise’s provocative songs ask you to think, to act, to enjoy, to fully engage in life. She invites you to stretch not only your voice, but your expectations and assumptions.”
~ Terry Garthwaite, Joy of Cooking, Natural Rhythms, composer, concert artist
"A beautiful and breathtaking songbook in its variety of wonderful songs, its scope of musical styles and subjects, its accessible and lovely artistic design, and its charming stories about each piece, as well as about Elise's remarkable journey through her musical life. Elise's brilliant artistry shines through these pages!"
~ Joanne Hammil, composer, performer, choral director

We all have a SONG DEEP IN OUR BONES. Perhaps being in nature is when we can hear it best. Inspired by Yosemite National Park, Malcolm Dalglish's Ooolation Singers rocked the music as well as the body percussion! Here's our rehearsal...
