Ossabaw Island provides a unique ecosystem to connect deeply with nature, the human story of this place, and the creative expressions that unfold. We set off on our journey, arriving by boat. Our activities over the weekend include: morning meditation, chant and qi gong; touring the Island and its varied ecosystems; making music with songs and improvisation; creating listening opportunities for nature encounters; opening to mindfulness of the human story of slavery and capitalism on Ossabaw; and gathering for delicious organic locally sourced meals by Chef Lesley Varnadore. Elise and Gayanne lay a framework for connecting with the environment and each other, offering a conduit to our creativity. The weekend marks Earth Day, an opportunity for us to bring full awareness to this beautiful piece of Earth.
