The afternoon begins in the Visitor Center where Stephen Wing will offer signed copies of his book Wild Atlanta, which features his epic poem about Woodlands Garden, "After Speaking Too Loudly in a Quiet Place." The poem will also be available in chapbook form, along with Wing's newly released collection, Washed in the Hurricane. The Visitor Center is currently hosting a show of water color paintings by Jessica Lily, who will be painting live during the book signing.
Visitors will then be invited to take a very short walk through the woods to the Woodlands Pavilion, where they will be treated to live poetry by Wing, a talk by Luz Wright about the photographs in Wild Atlanta, and a musical performance by Elise Witt & An Impromptu Glorious Chorus™. After the performance, participants will once again be welcomed in the Visitor Center to view the paintings, purchase books, mingle and socialize.

I love participating in the Daily Antidote of Song, that started during the pandemic, and now is launching YEAR 4. Every single day, a Song Leader teaches a song and has some conversation around the song's story and its work in the world. As a frequent host, I've gotten to bring many of my musical friends to this community that spans the globe. And every once in a while I get to share a song as well.

Sun. May 19 - Elise hosts John Gorka

Join us daily at 12pm ET on Zoom! Watch any time on YouTube

And there is now a 5 Volume set of recordings featuring a multitude of DAS Songleaders including Sweet Honey in the Rock, Emma's Revolution, Jaka Skapín, Sonja Morgenegg, Elena La Fulana, Kate Munger, Marilena Anzini, Sol y Canto, Tret Fure, Hubby Jenkins, Sloan Wainwright, Sones de Mexico,........ and yours truly!

A song of APPRECIATION recorded here with Mick Kinney (piano) & Lisset Rodés (percussion & vocal harmony). Now a staple at the Global Village Project to show our gratitude for the many people who make it possible to offer a good education to teenage refugee girls!

Improv at Steve's Live Music 2012
This is a Spontaneous Improvisation with the audience at Steve's Live Music in Atlanta. It is a song of gratitude to live music, to all the musicians who make playing so much fun, and to folks who come to listen and are also willing to become part of the music, including my mom!
