Dear Friends,

~ Many of you know that this is my 10th (!) year to serve as Artist-in-Residence at the Global Village Project. GVP is a special purpose middle school for teenage refugee girls with interrupted education. We use singing to learn English - we write songs about what the students are studying in math, science, social studies, and language arts, and we learn songs from each other's cultures.

~ Please join us this Saturday for our WELCOME WALK to connect the communities of Clarkston, where most of the students' families live, with Decatur, where our school is housed. We will be singing as we walk, to show solidarity with immigrants, refugees, and all members of the human race!

I hope to see you and sing with you there!
