For the second time (in as many years), The Patch Works Art & History Center is having its Grand Opening! This time, it's for REAL. :)
C'mon by and check out our newest and bestest version of Cabbagetown's very own art and history center — learn about the neighborhood (and why it exists), see some of the local folk art (including the utilitarian work done at The Patch, Inc.), and hear music and stories from Cabbagetown's 130+ years of existence.
|
|
In addition, our first rotating exhibit will be focusing on the great Joyce Brookshire, Duchess of Cabbagetown, who passed away last June. Honoring us (and Joyce's memory) will be two very special guests: Slim Chance and Elise Witt, who will perform some of Joyce's beautiful songs.
If you love Cabbagetown (or simply want to know more about it), this is the chance to experience the history of this special neighborhood...

Carolina Gator Gumbo, based in Charlotte, is a well-seasoned Cajun & Creole band bringing festive music from southwest Louisiana to the southeast since the early ‘90s. Their journey into the bayou with traditional Cajun & Creole arrangements complements a touch of country, blues and a few originals to season the gumbo! You will be delighted.
