SUMMARY:Online ~ Singing For Fun ~ 5 Week Series
DESCRIPTION:Freedom Quilt painted on canvas by Global Village Project Students with Danielle Ereddia\, Rachel Smith\, and Charmaine Minnefield\n\n\n\n\n5 Monday evenings on Zoom\n\n\n\n7:30 – 8:45 p.m.\n\n\n\nNov. 7 – Dec. 12 (no class Nov. 21)\n\n\n\n~ online zoom class ~~ limited class size ~ \n\n\n\nUpon registration\, you will receive a link to join\, and a link to a folder with all the music\, including mp3 sound recordings\, lyrics\, and music notation. \n\n\n\nThough we’ve now been able to have occasional live and in person sings\, we are still going strong online\, with ever more fun ways to be together in the virtual space. It’s been lovely having folks from Canada\, Vermont\, California\, Alabama\, Illinois\, Connecticut\, Colorado\, Tennessee\, Michigan\, and Virginia\, join our regular Atlanta crew of singers. And there are so many wonderful new songs to enjoy in this new format. Come join us! \n\n\n\nDiscover\, explore\, and expand your natural voice with Singing for FUN for EVERYONE online. Singers learn songs that explore the vast expression of harmony from around the world.  There are also lots of songs in English\, including songs from the African American tradition\, quirky rounds\, food songs\, Elise originals\, and lots more! DEC. 10th 3:00 – 4:30pm\n\n\n\nCancelled – try Jan. 14\n\n\n\nExpand your confidence and your consciousness in this singing workshop!\n\n\n\nPlay with melody\, rhythm\, language\, harmony\, vocal production\, and soul connection. Get the gritty\, technical\, sensual sense of how the voice can draw powerfully on vocal wisdom from many cultures. \n\n\n\nExplore the rainbow of colors inherent in our voices and join with other daring singers to create vocal landscapes\, soulful harmonies\, and impromptu sonic masterpieces. In her improvisation Singing Workshops\, Elise uses games and exercises from her studies with master teachers Rhiannon\, Bobbie McFerrin\, David Darling\, Dr. Fred Onovwerosuoke\, and Dr. Ysaye Barnwell\, which expand with our own creativity. We also explore SONGS as inspiration for improvisation. \n\n\n\nVocal Improvisation provides a safe and supportive space to stretch out and widen vocal horizons\, and to express our authentic selves. \n\n\n\nMusic reading is not a prerequisite\,but some knowledge of music theory can’t hurt. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFirst\, Register below: After registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the class.
