It’s been lovely having folks from Canada\, Vermont\, California\, Alabama\, Illinois\, Connecticut\, Colorado\, Tennessee\, Michigan\, and Virginia\, join our regular Atlanta crew of singers. And there are so many wonderful new songs to enjoy in this new format. Come join us! \n\n\n\nDiscover\, explore\, and expand your natural voice with Singing for FUN for EVERYONE online. SUMMARY:2025 ~ Singing The Inspiration Of Ossabaw Island
DESCRIPTION:Ossabaw -2025\n\n\nThe land as messenger of the music\n\n\n\nMARCH 21 – 24\, 2025\n\n\n\nwith Gayanne Geurin & Elise Witt\n\n\n\nOssabaw Island provides a unique environment to connect deeply with nature\, the human story of this place\, and the creative connections that unfold. \n\n\n\nWe set off by boat with our captain and island guide\, arriving on this 26\,000 acre undeveloped barrier island\, the only people here for the weekend. Elise and Gayanne lay a framework for connecting with Ossabaw and each other\, offering a conduit to creative flow. Chef Lesley Varnadore provides delicious\, organic locally sourced meals. \n\n\n\nActivities include: Morning meditation\, chant\, and qigong; Music sessions with songs and improvisation; Listening opportunities for nature encounters; Openings for sharing experiences and creative offerings; Campfire singing; and Solo reflection time. \n\n\n\nOne full day is dedicated to touring the island with its varied ecosystems – Spanish moss adorning live oaks; rookeries with herons\, egrets\, and roseate spoonbills; brief glimpses of alligators\, deer\, and wild pigs; and the 700 year old mother tree –  our senses become finely tuned as we deepen our observing\, listening\, and responding. \n\n\n\nWe cultivate mindfulness as we contemplate the island’s human history – migratory North American tribes who lived here 5000 years ago\, plantation owners and enslaved people\, and the woman who is responsible for Ossabaw becoming Georgia’s first Nature Preserve. \n\n\n\nPerhaps the only quest left to take\, the deepest teaching to learn\, is loving the interconnectedness of all things on Earth. DESCRIPTION:Monday evenings on Zoom \n\n\n\n7:15 – 8:30 p.m.\n\n\n\nMar. 31st\n\n\n\n~ online zoom class ~ limited class size ~ \n\n\n\nUpon registration\, you will receive a link to join. \n\n\n\nOver the course of the class\, you will receive all the music\, including mp3 sound recordings\, lyrics\, and music notation. \n\n\n\nThough we’ve now been able to have live and in person sings\, we are still going strong online\, with ever more fun ways to be together in the virtual space. It’s been lovely having folks from Canada\, Vermont\, California\, Alabama\, Illinois\, Connecticut\, Colorado\, Tennessee\, Michigan\, and Virginia\, join our regular Atlanta crew of singers. And there are so many wonderful new songs to enjoy in this new format. Come join us! \n\n\n\nDiscover\, explore\, and expand your natural voice with Singing for FUN for EVERYONE online. Singers learn songs that explore the vast expression of harmony from around the world.  There are also lots of songs in English\, including songs from the African American tradition\, quirky rounds\, food songs\, Elise originals\, and lots more!
