HARRIET TUBMAN – LIFELINE<\/strong><\/p>\n

One night I dreamed I was in slavery, ’bout 1850 was the time<\/p>\n

Sorrow was the only sign, Nothing around to ease my mind<\/p>\n

Out of the night there came a lady leading a distant pilgrim band<\/p>\n

“First mate!” she said, pointing her hand, “Make room aboard for this young woman”<\/p>\n

And she sang –<\/p>\n

\u201cCome on up, mm-mm, I got a lifeline,<\/p>\n

Come on up to this train of mine<\/p>\n

Come on up, mm-mm, I got a lifeline,<\/p>\n

Come on up to this train of mine<\/p>\n

She said her name was Harriet Tubman<\/p>\n

And she drove for the Underground Railroad\u201d<\/p>\n

Hundreds of miles we traveled onward, gathering slaves from town to town<\/p>\n

Seeking every lost and found, Setting those free who once were bound<\/p>\n

Finally my heart was growing weaker, I fell by the wayside\u2019s sinking sand<\/p>\n

Firmly did this woman stand, She lifted me up and she took my hand<\/p>\n

And she sang –<\/p>\n

Who are these children dressed in BROWN? They must be the ones who went underground!<\/p>\n

Who are these children dressed in YELLOW? They must be the ones who are walking slow!<\/p>\n

Who are these children dressed in PINK? They must be the ones who quietly think!<\/p>\n

Who are these children dressed in GRAY? They must be the ones who hide in the day!<\/p>\n

Who are these children dressed in BLACK? They must be the ones who won\u2019t turn back!<\/p>\n

Who are these children dressed in RED? They must be the ones who Sister Harriet led!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now I\u2019ll sing<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll drive that train like Harriet Tubman, and I\u2019ll drive for the Underground Railroad!\u201d<\/p>\n
