For singers new to improvisation and Rhiannon’s work.
\nNo audition required.<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><\/span>This workshop is open to all singers who have solid musical skills, good pitch and rhythm, and want to expand \u00a0their vocal and improvisational experience.\u00a0<\/em>Rhiannon brings new singers into the world of improvisation using Circle Singing as the musical foundation. Circle Singing is a participatory ritual in which singers gather in a circle with a conductor in the center who creates\u00a0improvised\u00a0parts for the\u00a0sections. These patterns are changed and shifted by the conductor so that the singing continues for long stretches, creating a rich, deep and joyful experience.
\nWe will also find our unique and personal sound, working alone, in pairs, and in ensemble as we meld intuition and invention with skill and heart. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This gathering is limited to 20 experienced improvisers — strong, committed singers & vocal teachers who want to be more engaged in improvisation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Using Rhiannon’s\u00a0Vocal River<\/a><\/em>\u00a0exercises you will deepen your improvisational vocabulary and intuitive skills inventing personal and ensemble music\u00a0including ensemble work, solo work, song form, small ensemble exercises,\u00a0group collaborations and physical movement.\u00a0Having taught in Atlanta for many years, Rhiannon feels a special bond to the music culture here. Hoping to meet new singers as well as refresh relationships with returning friends. Bring your ears, heart, mind and voice.<\/span><\/p>\n
