SCOUT
We met Scout in 2003, when she and her mother Deborah came to Sing, String and Swing Week at the Swannanoa Gathering. She was 10 years old.
Deb and Scout continued to come to Swannanoa for the next 5 years, and we witnessed her development into a musical, community-minded, earth-conscious young adult.
Scout was killed in a tragic accident in July 2019 at the age of 26.

In Scout's honor, the Spiral Living Center, in the Illinois Valley of Oregon, is creating the Earth Scouts! program, an immersive skill building school for teens & adults.
An outdoor classroom and experiential curriculum will host an inclusive, holistic program that provides an opportunity for teens and adults to heal from isolation and industrial culture and deepen relationships with themselves, each other, and the living Earth that supports us all.
