I'm Norma Jean Haynes, a 21-year old songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. I have a passion for music and community, and have studied traditional music in cultural contexts around the world-- from the ballads of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the banjo tunes of East Kentucky. My own songs, falling at a crossroads of local and global, are unique, loving meditations on the world and its moments. Into my concerts, I weave old songs, new ones, and stories from years devoted to travel and building connection through music.
