The third year for SPACE IS THE NEW PLACE has the theme of: AIR (Always in Reach). There will be an aerial dance performance by D’Air Dance Company. Visiting artist, Elise Witt is back again, collaborating with Jay Sessoms and his choral singers. Visiting artist, Lynn Marshall-Linnemeier, has been creating large scale cyanotype prints with 8th grade dancers. Beth White‘s engineering students will be presenting their wind turbine sculptures and they will be incorporated into a dance performance. Billy Morrison’s geometry students have created animated video loops that will be projected onto the outside of the theater building. There will be strings players performing on the 3rd floor balcony for the sunset watching reception. Renee Ruffin‘s visual artists have created a jungle-like environmental art project that will be installed in the theater lobby. Kevin L. Parker‘s photographers will be exhibiting air-themed images created just for this one-night-only event. The evening will end with a “glow party” and a live DJ playing music for everyone in the community to dance on all the levels of the amphitheater at the east end of the Yates campus.
