Up To You
Listen up, it’s time to act
Time to move, and that’s a fact
Your head and your heart tell you what to do
Time is now, and it’s up to you!
Circle Song

Circle Song
One person gives out repeating parts to the groups.
Find parts by first singing what’s inside, then refining to find a motor part. Harmony is good. Look for spaces in the motor part to interlock new parts.
Find parts by first solo-ing over what is already created.
Play with rhythm – try putting 3 over 4 or try something in an odd rhythm like 5/4, 7/8, 9/8
Play with tonality – use some unusual harmonies, try notes that may not be the “first choices”
Play with language – try using some sounds you don’t always use; experiment with different consonants; imagine you’re speaking a language you don’t know but have a sound in your ear eg. french, russian, italian, etc.
The person giving out the parts can then solo over the foundation they have created.
Solo-ist can then step out and let another person solo and/or create new parts…
I’m Gonna Walk It With You
by Ellie Grace & Brian Claflin
I’M GONNA WALK IT WITH YOU
Well it looks like it might be a hard road,
But I’m gonna walk it with you
And I know you might have a heavy load, but I can carry some too
I will lift you up when they push you down,
I will raise my voice, stand my ground
Well it looks like it might be a hard road,
But I’m gonna walk it with you
Well it looks like it might be a long night, but I ain’t goin’ nowhere
And I know it’s gonna be a hard fight, but I will stay right here
I will shine a light in the darkest hour,
Face the man in the tallest tower
Well it looks like it might be a long night, but I ain’t goin’ nowhere
I will work! I will fight! I will strive in the name love
I will speak! I will shout! I will sing it to the skies above
Well it looks like it might be a perilous climb, but I will follow your lead
And I know it might be a long time until the last one of us is freed
But I will hold on tight, stay by your side.
I will be with you for this whole long ride
Well it looks like it might be a perilous climb, but I will follow your lead
Well it looks like it might be a hard road,
But I’m gonna walk it with you
And I know you might have a heavy load, but I can carry some too
I will lift you up when they push you down,
I will raise my voice, stand my ground
Well it looks like it might be a hard road,
But I’m gonna walk it with you
I’m gonna walk it with you
I’m gonna walk it with you
I will walk! I will climb! Shine my light the whole night through
Because it looks like it might be a hard road,
But I’m gonna walk it with you

PIPPINIPITY
When you get the rhythm, you palpitate the beat
You get the boogie in your body, now you turn up the heat
Ca chinka chinka
Drink the chai, feel the tingle in your feet
Ca chinka
Think to sink the chi, get completely upbeat
Terry Garthwaite, Becky Reardon, Elise Witt live @ French Garden in Sebastopol CA
Rachel Schlafer Parton created this Body Percussion for Terry Garthwaite’s song “Pippinipity”

EEL RIVER CHANT
by Meredith Buck
EEL RIVER CHANT
Listen, Listen
Listen, Listen
Lay yourself down on the rocks now
Let your body down in the river
Listen for the drumming on the other side
Lose yourself in the meantime
Listen
Let your body be your guide
Let the water decide
Lose yourself in the meantime
