OPEN THE WINDOW is Elise’s first album of all original songs. The collection showcases Elise’s eclectic taste in music, with styles ranging from swing, jazz, and blues to Cajun French and Greek sirtaki. Many of these songs are ones Elise uses in her vocal workshops and several are arranged for vocal ensembles in the Elise Witt Choral Series. The title track is inspired by a Georgia Sea Islands Spiritual, and has been published in the Unitarian Hymnal Supplement and the British Unitarian Hymnal, and has been translated into many languages. There is also a multi-lingual vocal collage, creating a polyrhythmic chorus of gratitude, using the word for “thank you” in 9 languages.
