Originally from Puerto Rico, now living in New Jersey, Suzzette Ortiz is a dedicated advocate for music education and social change. She is the a former Artistic Director of Artistas y Músicos Latino Americanos (AMLA), and a certified music practitioner providing Harp comfort music in healthcare settings. She is deeply involved in Circle Singing and Música do Círculo, a practices rooted in the work of Bobby McFerrin and Brazilian leaders.
Suzzette is an accomplished pianist, composer, arranger, choral conductor, and music educator. A nationally recognized teacher, she served 32 years in public education; 27 in Camden, New Jersey; empowering students in urban schools through choral music. Her choirs earned top awards at festivals across the U.S. and internationally. Her compositions are widely published and commissioned, reflecting her lifelong commitment to community, healing, and artistic excellence.
