Inspired by Democracy Now Amy Goodman’s 2008 visit to Atlanta celebrating the Great Speckled Bird’s 40th anniversary, Elise wrote “Break the Silence.” It later became an anthem for Eve Ensler’s “One Billion Rising,” the movement to stop violence against women and girls around the world, and is recorded on Elise’s CD “We’re All BORN SINGING.”
Now Elise gets to share her song with you as she closes the evening of WRFG’s evening with Amy Goodman at First Iconium Baptist Church. Folk music legend Frank Hamilton will open the evening. Don’t miss it!!
